Discover 'Jungle Falls' Kayak, Hike & Swim - 4 1/2 hours

This exclusive one-way paddle brings you into the Hule'ia National Wildlife Refuge, home to many of Hawaii's native wetland birds and plants. The majestic Mount Ha'upu is your backdrop as you paddle this peaceful waterway.

Witness famous movie locations ( Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park ) and historic sites such as the Alekoko (Menehune) Fishpond. Enjoy a break in the shade of mango trees along the shore of the river.

At the end of your 2 1/2 mile one-way paddle, you will take a walk along an interesting forest trail full of exotic plantlife, birds and an occassional wild pig to waiting air-conditioned vans. Here our guides will take you on a short van ride to the trail to your ultimate destination, two secluded, private waterfalls! At the trail head, you will start your 10-minute hike through a tropical jungle forest abundant with guava, passion fruit, laua'e fern, noni fruit and more.

Your first stop will be at 'Bamboo Falls' for a short break of pictures and beautiful scenery. Next you will walk two minutes up the trail to the awesome 50 ft. 'Jungle Falls'. This is where you can swim beneath the cascading falls, take pictures, enjoy your surroundings, talk story, laugh and have fun! The best part, it is your own private paradise! After 30-minutes or so, we'll dry off, gather our things and start the hike back up the trail to our picnic area. Here you wrap up your journey with a hearty gourmet deli lunch in our 'Hale Kau Kau' picnic area on a bluff overlooking the beautiful Hule'ia Valley.

The drive back will stop at the Fishpond lookout for another beautiful Birdseye view of the river and the Hule'ia Valley. An unforgettable experience!

What to bring: Swimsuit or shorts, towel, sunscreen, mosquito repellant, footwear with good tread for muddy conditions and wearing in water (water shoes or Teva-type sport sandals, no flip-flops or sneakers) and bring smiles.

Dry bags and life vests are provided on all tours. A safety briefing and paddling demo are done before each tour.

Hiking portion of tour is moderately strenuous. Participants should be in good physical condition and be able to hike 8 to 10 flights of uneven steps. Maximum weight allowed is 260 lbs.

Weather: Island Adventures reserves the right to cancel tours on short notice due to extreme weather conditions (we do not cancel because of rain).

Cancellation Policy: Once booking is confirmed there is a 24-hour cancellation policy in effect.

Groups: Exclusive tours are available for groups of more than 20 people.
